My True Home
As we travel through life we lose sight of the present moment and forget the deeper truth of ourselves. This piece speaks of the circular journey from dark to light, from a place of forgetfulness to waking up to the light of our essence.
This remembering; it’s a spiral staircase
The rushing and busyness, spinning thoughts and fears
Losing sight of the present moment,
Unaware of that space that we hold dear
And then the clouds part, seeing past the struggles,
Doubts and fear…to something close, a presence very near.
The blazing sun of awareness revives me,
Transporting me home, filling my heart with clarity.
This life journey is a cycle of remembering and forgetting.
Back and forth we go, from heaven to hell,
Never knowing when we will remember or forget.
But when we remember again, we come home, and our fears fall away.
We clearly see the ever-present truth:
That we never left our true home.
Underneath the clouds, thoughts, feelings, and illusions,
The sun of our awareness blazes on.
It takes courage, trust, and faith to live in this sacred remembering.
When the clouds come to visit; when the thoughts and emotions are strong,
I can trust that I’m still home.
I am here, I am the light…I am free
